IGP Islamabad Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry Takes Charge, Outlines Policing Priorities


Islamabad: Captain (Retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry has officially assumed his role as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Islamabad, setting out clear priorities for the police force. According to Islamabad Capital Police, the newly appointed IGP was welcomed by police officers and officials at the Central Police Office, where a formal change-of-command ceremony took place.



A police contingent presented a salute to IGP Chaudhry upon his arrival. He held introductory meetings with senior officers and received briefings on professional and operational matters. The IGP also met with Central Police Office staff to discuss departmental issues.



During his visit to the Martyrs’ Memorial, IGP Chaudhry paid tribute to the martyrs of Islamabad Police, laying a floral wreath and offering prayers. He emphasized that maintaining law and order and ensuring citizen protection are top priorities, while also expressing a commitment to merit, transparency, and the rule of law.



IGP Chaudhry outlined plans to enhance the professional capabilities of the police force, improve traffic management, and strengthen public facilities. He called on police officers to maintain courteous and professional conduct, and highlighted the importance of modern technology in improving policing.



He stressed the need to bolster accountability and discipline within the force, pledging to remember the sacrifices of police martyrs and continue their mission with dedication.
