ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has directed officers to bolster their investigative processes and ensure the timely delivery of justice, with an emphasis on enhancing public service. Leading a meeting with senior police officials, IGP Rizvi underscored the importance of effective, transparent, and professional investigations to serve citizens impartially and promptly.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting, attended by DIG Headquarters Muhammad Atiq Tahir and SSP Investigation Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt, focused on reviewing departmental matters and improving the investigation system. Discussions also covered the progress of ongoing cases, the timely resolution of pending cases, and the overall performance of the Investigation Wing.
IGP Rizvi emphasized the need for investigations to adhere to modern standards and best practices, highlighting that all pending cases should be resolved on merit without unnecessary delays. In another meeting with DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq and other senior officials, legal affairs, public complaints, and measures to enhance public service quality were reviewed.
IGP Rizvi directed officers to prioritize resolving citizen complaints, stressing courteous and professional public interactions. The meeting also emphasized transparency, accountability, and the utilization of available resources to improve policing standards.
Later, IGP Rizvi, alongside DIG Tariq, met with Tayyab Nawaz Malik, Chairman of the Islamabad Police Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee (ADRC). The discussions focused on strengthening the ADRC mechanism for fair and peaceful dispute resolution among citizens.
IGP Rizvi highlighted the ADRC’s role in promoting social harmony and sustainable peace, reaffirming the police’s commitment to transparency and high professional standards through continuous improvements and public-oriented initiatives.
