Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar made a visit to Mayo Hospital and the Lahore High Court.
According to a statement by Punjab Police, Dr. Anwar was accompanied by DIG Security/Legal Awais Ahmad, DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Faisal Kamran, and other senior police officers during the visits. At Mayo Hospital, Dr. Anwar visited Asif Javed, a citizen undergoing treatment, and inquired about his condition. He also met with Javed’s family and assured them of providing the best possible medical treatment. Additionally, Dr. Anwar promised the family that justice would be served.
Later, Dr. Anwar’s visit to the Lahore High Court included an inspection of the crime scene. This visit was attended by DIG Security Awais Ahmad, SP Security Lahore Abdul Wahab, and other senior officers. The IG ordered an enhancement of security measures and a more stringent checking mechanism at the high court. The incident involving Asif Javed, who had attempted self-immolation on the high court premises, was highlighted. Dr. Anwar commended the swift actions of the police officers, officials, and citizens who intervened to save Javed’s life.
