Lahore: Police athletes have secured three medals at the 8th National Mass Wrestling Championship 2025.
According to a statement by Punjab Police, teams from 18 different regions participated in the event, showcasing their skills in various weight categories. The spokesperson for Punjab Police revealed that their athletes clinched one gold and two bronze medals in the competition.
Inspector Iram Khanum emerged victorious, earning a gold medal in the master category. Tanveer Wahla and Muniba Imtiaz contributed to the team’s success by winning bronze medals in the 105 kg and 75 kg categories, respectively.
IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, extended his congratulations to the medal-winning athletes, highlighting their achievements as a source of pride for the department. He noted the consistent success of Punjab Police’s sports teams at both national and provincial levels, emphasizing the department’s commitment to supporting its athletes.
Dr. Anwar assured that efforts to encourage and support police athletes would persist. Additional IG Finance and Director General of the Pakistan Police Sports Board, Imran Irshad, along with Chief Sports Officer Athar Ismail, also commended the athletes for their accomplishments.
