Jhelum: Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem expressed deep sorrow over the death of two Jhelum Elite Force personnel in a traffic accident while on duty and has instructed the provision of the best medical facilities for the injured personnel. Abdul Kareem affirmed the commitment of the Punjab Police to support the families of the deceased, emphasizing the pride the force takes in its personnel who sacrifice their lives in the line of duty.

According to Punjab Police, the accident occurred near the Qureshi Interchange on the Sheikhupura Motorway, resulting in the deaths of Driver Constable Asghar Ali and Constable Naveed Afzal, with four other personnel injured. The funeral prayers for the officers were conducted with full police honors at Police Lines Jhelum, attended by various dignitaries, including DPO Jhelum Shafique Ahmad Chaudhry, senior Army officers, and local officials. Floral wreaths were placed on the caskets, and prayers were offered for the deceased. Police officials also visited the injured at Mayo Hospital Lahore, checking on their condition and praying for their recovery. The bodies of the deceased were sent to their hometowns for burial with full honors.
