IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Leads Rank Pinning Ceremony for Promoted Traffic Wardens

Lahore, in a significant event at the Central Police Office, more than 50 traffic wardens who were recently promoted received their new ranks in a ceremony led by Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar. The ceremony was a celebration of the professional advancement of these traffic wardens and an affirmation of their critical role in the traffic management system.

According to Punjab Police, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, along with senior police officers, pinned promotion ranks to the traffic wardens and extended his congratulations. He emphasized the importance of diligent duty performance, highlighting that an integrated traffic system and robust law enforcement are indicative of a state’s system and ethics. Dr. Anwar expressed his personal affection for the traffic wardens, noting a long-standing relationship of love and compassion with them.

Dr. Anwar also stressed the importance of professional growth for traffic wardens. To this end, 25 seats have been allocated at the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and 10 seats at the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP). He remarked that traffic police hold a priority in terms of welfare and promotion under his leadership.

In his address, IG Punjab described the traffic wardens serving on the roads as true ambassadors of the Punjab Police. He underscored the significance of their behavior and professionalism, as they represent the entire department. Dr. Anwar urged the promoted wardens to serve citizens with renewed enthusiasm and ensure that the benefits of their promotions translate into improved performance and better traffic management.

The event also focused on the humane treatment of citizens, even those found guilty of violating traffic rules, and stressed the importance of ensuring smooth traffic flow and accident prevention through strict rule enforcement. Dr. Anwar called for continued legal action against unlicensed drivers, emphasizing that no exceptions should be made for those endangering the lives of others.

Significantly, the ceremony included the families of the traffic wardens, acknowledging the milestone in their professional careers. The presence of Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry, Additional IG Traffic Mirza Faran Baig, DIG Establishment Dr. Inam Waheed Khan, AIG Discipline Ahsan Saifullah, and AIG Admin Amara Athar underscored the importance of the event.
