IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Addresses Trainees at Police Training College Chung

Lahore, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar visited the Police Training College Chung Lahore, where he addressed police officers, officials, and lady officers undergoing various training courses. During his visit, Dr. Anwar issued important instructions and highlighted the challenges faced by the Punjab Police.

According to Punjab Police, Dr. Anwar emphasized the police force’s role in combating terrorism, extremism, and sectarianism. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the Punjab Police alongside the Pakistan Army in the war against terrorism and praised their efforts as a security wall despite limited resources and adverse conditions.

Dr. Anwar discussed the ongoing efforts for infrastructure development, promotions, and welfare within the police force, which have been instrumental in enhancing service delivery to the people of the province. He stated that the police play a crucial role in protecting the internal borders and citizens of Pakistan, urging the trainees to contribute positively to the image of Punjab Police through the eradication of crimes and excellent service delivery.

The IG Punjab highlighted the improvements in the training curriculum, facilities in police colleges, and schools, including Police Training College Chung and training institutes at Farooqabad, Sihala, Multan, and Sargodha. These enhancements aim to better prepare officers and officials for their duties in public service and safety.

Furthermore, Dr. Anwar mentioned the approval of the Pasban summary by Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, which will lead to 5,000 new promotions in the force. He emphasized the importance of translating development and welfare initiatives into excellent service delivery with positive behavior.

Discussing welfare measures, Dr. Anwar noted that 1,500 children of employees who were martyred or died in service have been employed in the department this year. He also mentioned significant health welfare and educational scholarship expenditures for police employees’ children.

Commandant DIG Mehboob Lillah’s efforts in improving all areas of Police Training College Chung were acknowledged by Dr. Anwar, who also announced a reward of 25 lakh rupees for officers and officials excelling in sports and constructive activities during training. During his visit, Dr. Anwar addressed staff and trainee issues, issuing on-the-spot orders for their resolution.
