ICT export remittances surges us $1.908 billion

Islamabad, June 26, 2021 (PPI-OT):On the direction of Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication is taking special steps to increase IT exports. ICT export remittances, including telecommunication, computer and information services have risen to US $1.908 billion at a growth rate of 47.1% during July-May of FY 2020-21, in comparison to US $1.297 billion during July-May of FY 2019-20, according to Pakistan Software Export Boar (PSEB), the attached department of Ministry of IT and Telecom.

 

Lauding the increase in IT exports, Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque said this is the highest growth rate for the FY 2020-21 (July-May). He said in statement that every possible steps are being taken to increase IT exports, adding that Pakistan’s IT industry is rapidly growing. The Federal Minister for IT also appreciated the role of Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and country’s IT industry.
