Srinagar, August 13, 2021 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has given call for complete strike in the territory on 15th August, Indian Independence Day. The Hurriyat forum in a statement issued in Srinagar said, India is involved in heinous crimes against humanity and its troops are killing innocent people of Kashmir, particularly youth, on daily basis.
It pointed out that the deployment of nine hundred thousand Indian troops in IIOJK posed a serious threat to regional peace and security and the incessant human rights abuses under the garb of cordon and search operations, crackdowns, harassment and torture amid strict coronavirus restrictions, disappearances and custodial killings of innocent Kashmiris had become a routine matter in the territory.
The Hurriyat forum called for immediate global intervention to stop genocide of Kashmiris in IIOJK. Indian design to change the demography of Kashmir is a challenge for the international community as Kashmir is UN-recognised disputed territory.
