“Hum Hain Pakistan” Initiative Sets Educational Goals for Sustainable Development in Islamabad


Islamabad: An introductory meeting chaired by Ms. Shaista Pervaiz, Convenor of the Parliamentary Task Force on the SDGs and Member of the National Assembly, was held today at the National Assembly to finalize the action plan for the “Hum Hain Pakistan” SDG Youth Campaign. The initiative aims to embed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) education and action across Islamabad’s schools, colleges, and universities.



According to Press Information Department, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, and Ms. Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State at the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, were active participants in the session. Barrister Danyal emphasized his commitment to connecting policy with grassroots implementation through youth engagement.



The meeting outlined a “Learning + Action” model to transform students from passive learners into active change-makers. The campaign is led by the SDG Parliamentary Task Force in collaboration with the International Governance and Sustainability Institute (IG-SI), United Peacekeepers Federal Council (UNPKFC), and the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.



The initiative aligns with Pakistan’s five-year economic plan Uraan Pakistan and its 5E framework, contributing to national progress toward Agenda 2030. Ms. Shaista Pervaiz highlighted that the campaign will introduce student-led SDG clubs, teacher training modules, and inter-school action projects.
