Islamabad: A high-level delegation from the Republic of Azerbaijan, led by Farid Ahmadov, the Minister for Justice, met with the Chief Justice of Pakistan at the Supreme Court. The meeting focused on judicial cooperation and strengthening bilateral ties in the legal sector.
According to Press Information Department, the Azerbaijani delegation included Adil Abilov, Director General of the Department for International Cooperation, and Samir Ahmedali, First Secretary at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Islamabad. Accompanying the delegation was Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Minister for Law and Justice of Pakistan.
Discussions covered various topics such as judicial education, digital transformation of courts, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. Both sides shared best practices in judicial administration and emphasized the importance of technology integration and judicial capacity building within Pakistan’s justice sector.
Farid Ahmadov praised Pakistan’s judiciary for its role in upholding the rule of law and expressed interest in enhancing cooperation in judicial training and legal research. The Azerbaijani delegation also acknowledged Pakistan’s support for strengthening regional cooperation.
The meeting concluded with the exchange of souvenirs and a commitment to deepen collaboration between Pakistan and Azerbaijan through structured engagement and institutional partnerships.
