Islamabad: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, in collaboration with the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), has successfully concluded its Mentoring Programme for Universities (MPU) at the Capital University of Science and Technology (CUST) in Islamabad. The programme trained 25 academics through a series of seven mentoring modules aimed at enhancing leadership, professional development, and institutional engagement.

According to Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the closing ceremony of the programme was graced by the presence of Managing Director of NAHE, Dr. Noor Amna Malik, and was attended by faculty members, mentors, mentees, and university leadership. During her address, Dr. Malik highlighted the importance of mentoring as a flagship initiative by NAHE to bolster institutional capacity and foster a collaborative academic culture. She emphasized that mentoring not only aids in individual professional growth but also plays a crucial role in cultivating resilient and innovative higher education institutions.

As part of the national mentoring framework, CUST Islamabad introduced an institutional module on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) to align faculty development with the evolving priorities in higher education. Additionally, the MPU Application, a computer-based app developed by CUST, was launched to facilitate mentor-mentee engagement and enhance the monitoring of mentoring activities.

The event at CUST Islamabad marked the inaugural MPU closing ceremony in the city, reflecting the commitment of private sector universities to integrate mentoring into their institutional frameworks. NAHE continues to organize professional development programmes across Pakistan, contributing to the promotion of academic excellence in the higher education sector.
