Gwadar: In response to ongoing challenges with load shedding and technical disruptions in the power supply, key officials, including Member Provincial Assembly Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman and Deputy Commissioner Hamoud-ur-Rehman, convened a meeting to strategize solutions and enhance the electricity distribution system in Gwadar. The meeting brought together local CASCO officials and community leaders to discuss the imperative of bridging communication gaps between the utility provider and the residents.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Deputy Commissioner Hamoud-ur-Rehman emphasized the critical need for CASCO to address the disconnect with citizens promptly to ensure their demands for reliable electricity are met. He highlighted Gwadar’s comparatively high rate of electricity bill payments and called for CASCO to strengthen ties with the public to swiftly resolve issues related to load shedding, feeder breakdowns, transformer faults, and billing discrepancies.
The assembly also addressed the need for improvements in the meter reading and billing processes to better serve the community. Local councilors and social leaders expressed readiness to support CASCO in enhancing service delivery, contingent on the utility’s commitment to operational improvements.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman urged CASCO to prioritize maintaining power supply schedules, especially for hospitals and educational institutions, to prevent adverse impacts on patients and students. He advocated for establishing robust communication channels between CASCO and local councilors to facilitate quicker resolution of public grievances.
The meeting concluded with Deputy Commissioner Hamoud-ur-Rehman directing CASCO officials and councilors to hold further internal discussions to devise practical solutions for the ongoing power supply challenges through collaborative efforts.
