ISLAMABAD: The government is prioritizing value-added exports and removing barriers to investment, Minister for Board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh stated during a meeting with Swedish Ambassador Alexandra Berg von Linde. The discussions emphasized enhancing economic ties between Pakistan and Sweden with a focus on industrial development and business collaboration.
According to Radio Pakistan, Minister Sheikh highlighted the potential to expand the economic partnership between the two nations by leveraging their longstanding relations. This includes promoting investment and technology transfer, alongside fostering business-to-business collaboration. The Swedish Ambassador noted that Swedish companies in Pakistan are actively engaged through the Swedish Business Council, which addresses business concerns and explores investment opportunities.
On the topic of energy transition, Ambassador von Linde expressed Sweden’s interest in contributing to Pakistan’s push towards a more sustainable energy future.
