Government Implements Measures to Boost Industrial Sector by Resolving Key Obstacles

Islamabad: The government has undertaken measures over the past three years to address challenges faced by the industrial sector, with support from the Special Investment Facilitation Council. Initiatives include the creation of pathways to revive non-operational industrial units and reforms such as tariff adjustments to facilitate business operations.

According to Radio Pakistan, the National Industrial Revival Commission has been instrumental in bringing dormant industrial units back into production. Efforts to enhance industrial growth have included improved access to raw materials and machinery. In the Gwadar North Free Zone, a potassium sulfate fertilizer unit is now operational, and export approvals have been secured.

Additionally, the previously stalled Saudi investment-backed National Steel Complex has been revitalized with support from the Special Investment Facilitation Council. The council has also been pivotal in resolving regulatory hurdles, allowing for the approval of seven new cement plants.
