Karachi: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal announced that the government has successfully averted an economic default while also reducing inflation and the deficit. He noted an upward trend in exports and remittances during his address at the inauguration of the High-Performance Research Center at NED University of Engineering and Technology.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the new research center aims to enhance sports capabilities through modern technology. Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the center’s role in improving the potential of athletes by embracing advanced technology for monitoring and assessment.
The minister underscored the importance of collaboration between government, industry, and academia to guide the nation toward development amid a technological revolution. He highlighted the ‘E-Pakistan’ initiative under the Prime Minister’s Uraan Pakistan program as a means to explore new avenues for sustainable economic growth and stability.
Ahsan Iqbal also pointed out that achieving peace, political stability, continuity of policy for at least a decade, and cohesive reforms are essential for reaching these objectives. He further mentioned the revival of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) spirit and the implementation of various development initiatives.
