Gilani Urges Parliamentary Unity to Tackle Global Issues

PHNOM PENH: Chairman Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, called for enhanced parliamentary unity and collective efforts to confront global issues such as armed conflicts, terrorism, climate change, and economic inequality. Speaking at the inaugural session of the 2nd Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, he emphasized the urgency of transitioning from dialogue to action in parliamentary diplomacy.

According to Radio Pakistan, Gilani highlighted the importance of moving from mere commitments to tangible results. He suggested that the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference should establish mechanisms for rapid parliamentary responses to emerging crises and reinforce adherence to international law, laying the groundwork for peace and stability.
