JHELUM: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, speaking at the annual Urs Mubarak ceremony of Hazrat Pir Syed Qasim Ali Shah Kirmani (RA) and Hazrat Pir Syed Shabbir Ali Shah Kirmani (RA), stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in ensuring global peace. The event, held in Jhelum, was attended by religious scholars, spiritual leaders, political and social figures, and numerous devotees from across the country.
According to Radio Pakistan, Gilani paid tribute to the saints’ enduring contributions, noting that their teachings continue to promote peace, tolerance, coexistence, and unity. He reiterated that Islam is a religion of peace and harmony and rejected attempts to associate Muslims with extremism and violence.
Addressing concerns over rising international tensions, Gilani highlighted that dialogue, diplomacy, and responsible leadership are the only sustainable approaches to achieving peace. He commended Pakistan’s political and military leadership for their diplomatic efforts in reducing international tensions and promoting peace.
Gilani also emphasized Pakistan’s longstanding advocacy for dialogue, restraint, and peaceful resolution of disputes through diplomacy. He underscored the importance of imparting the teachings and values of spiritual elders to younger generations to foster moderation, tolerance, and moral responsibility in society.
