Value-Added Exports Crucial for Pakistan’s Global Market Position, Says Defence Minister


Sialkot: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has highlighted the importance of promoting value-added exports to bolster Pakistan’s standing in global markets. He emphasized this during the inauguration of a water treatment plant at the Sialkot Tannery Zone, underscoring the critical role of the business community in the nation’s economic progress.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister praised the relentless efforts of Pakistan’s entrepreneurs and exporters, particularly those in Sialkot, for their contributions to the nation’s economic development. He noted that Sialkot has successfully transformed into a leading export hub, gaining recognition both nationally and internationally.



Minister Asif also highlighted the global acknowledgment of Sialkot’s manufacturing sector, with a special mention of its sports goods industry, which serves as a testament to the strength of the local industry. He urged continued support for value-added exports as a means of enhancing Pakistan’s economic position on the global stage.
