Islamabad: A delegation from the Gates Foundation met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, to discuss opportunities for collaboration in digital growth. The delegation, led by Dr. Kalpana Kochhar and Dr. Anita Zaidi, engaged in discussions centered on digital transformation and partnerships.
According to Press Information Department, Minister Khawaja presented the government’s “Digital Nation Pakistan” agenda, which aims to enhance digital inclusivity, modernize public services, and strengthen the digital economy. The minister emphasized the importance of international partnerships, highlighting the collaboration with the Gates Foundation as crucial for achieving a digitally advanced Pakistan.
The Gates Foundation delegation recognized Pakistan’s efforts in digital transformation, particularly the reforms led by the IT Ministry. Both parties agreed to further collaboration in areas including artificial intelligence, the digital economy, data systems, health technology, financial inclusion, capacity building, and technology-driven development.
