New Delhi, September 25, 2022 (PPI-OT):Girls have to always remain on the receiving end in India with a latest incident of a Dalit girl’s gang-rape and subsequently setting on fire occurring in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit district.
The girl died 12 days after she was gang-raped and subsequently set on fire by two men in Uttar Pradesh.
Indian media reported that India is witnessing a new trend in which girls are killed after rape. Earlier, hurling acid at the girl was common if anyone refused to marry or enter into a relationship.
The sexual assault on the teenager occurred earlier this month in Kunwarpur village. After raping the girl, the assailants didn’t leave her, but poured diesel on her body and lit the fire.
The victim was rushed to the hospital with severe burn injuries. She succumbed 12 days later.
The same incident recently took place in Jharkhand’s Dumka, where the accused poured petrol on the girl and set her on fire. Indian media reported that girls are totally unsafe in India. The number of rape cases is increasing with the passing of time.
