First Lady Opens Begum Nusrat Bhutto Library, Visits Humanitarian Exhibition at PRCS

Islamabad: First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, a Member of the National Assembly, inaugurated the Begum Nusrat Bhutto Library at the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Headquarters in Islamabad. During her visit, she also attended an exhibition titled “Humanitarian Journey of PRCS.”

According to Press Information Department, the First Lady was welcomed by PRCS Chairperson Farzhana Naek and senior officials. She was briefed on the organization’s humanitarian work and relief efforts since its establishment in 1947, highlighting its volunteer network and youth engagement initiatives.

Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari officially opened the Begum Nusrat Bhutto Library and explored the exhibition showcasing PRCS’s disaster response operations and historical relief activities. She unveiled a commemorative plaque for the library and discussed its benefits for students and the establishment of youth clubs with Chairperson Naek.

The First Lady expressed her support for PRCS’s humanitarian services and emphasized the importance of continuing its mission. She recorded remarks in the Visitors’ Book, acknowledging the legacy of humanitarian service associated with her family and wishing the organization success.

Chairperson Naek remarked that the library’s inauguration honors the compassion and humanitarian leadership of Begum Nusrat Bhutto. She noted the roles of Begum Nusrat Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in promoting humanitarian values. Naek also acknowledged the support of President Asif Ali Zardari.

Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari met with PRCS volunteer children, appreciating their dedication to community service. The event was attended by international Red Cross and Red Crescent officials and other dignitaries.
