Karachi: A fire that erupted on the fourth and fifth floors of Rimpa Plaza on M.A. Jinnah Road was successfully contained using a snorkel ladder and fire tenders, Barrister Murtaza Wahab. There were no reports of casualties, and all individuals were safely evacuated from the building. The incident prompted a swift response from rescue teams to ensure minimal disruption to citizens and businesses.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the fire brigade, including a snorkel, reached the site promptly, with additional firefighting resources such as bowzers and other equipment on standby. The Mayor confirmed that the Water Corporation ensured an uninterrupted water supply for firefighting efforts. The operation was completed without any obstacles, and the cooling process was initiated post containment.

Mayor Wahab highlighted the importance of equipping multi-story buildings and markets with adequate firefighting systems to protect lives and property. A study conducted by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation assessed the presence of firefighting equipment in buildings along major roads and highways. Building owners were advised to arrange necessary safety measures based on this report. The corporation pledged to continue its efforts in guiding citizens and businesses on fire safety protocols.
