NEW YORK: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb underscored the importance of energy security for economic resilience and stability during a high-level dialogue organized by the World Economic Forum. He highlighted that the ongoing geopolitical conflicts and disruptions in fuel supplies have redirected global focus from energy transition to addressing the immediate concerns of energy security.
According to Radio Pakistan, Aurangzeb noted Pakistan’s progress in the solar energy sector, driven largely by private sector initiatives. This expansion demonstrates the potential of renewable energy in reducing the country’s reliance on imported fuels. He also pointed out that the challenges in securing energy supplies have broader economic implications, connecting energy security with food security and economic strength.
