Finance Minister Reaffirms Pakistan’s Commitment to External Financial Obligations

Washington: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to meeting its external financial obligations, emphasizing the country’s dedication to its reform agenda. During a meeting held with Jonathan Greenstein, Deputy Under Secretary for International Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Aurangzeb highlighted Pakistan’s recent fulfillment of a Eurobond payment obligation amounting to 1.3 billion dollars.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Finance Minister conveyed the government’s resolve to honor all upcoming external financial obligations in a timely manner. The discussion between Aurangzeb and Greenstein also focused on mutual intentions to enhance economic engagement between Pakistan and the United States, suggesting a shared interest in strengthening bilateral economic ties.
