ISLAMABAD: In a significant crackdown on crime, Islamabad Police announced the arrest of 19 individuals involved in various criminal activities, with the recovery of drugs and weapons during the operation. The arrests were made by teams from the Margalla, Sangjani, Sabzi Mandi, Khana, Kirpa, and Shehzad Town police stations, leading to the seizure of crystal meth, liquor, and firearms.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the coordinated operation resulted in the arrest of 11 suspects linked to different criminal offenses. The police confiscated 317 grams of crystal meth, seven bottles of liquor, and seven pistols with ammunition. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and investigations are underway to further assess the extent of the suspects’ criminal activities.
Additionally, as part of a targeted campaign to apprehend proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams managed to arrest eight more criminals. This effort aligns with the directives of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who emphasizes sustained efforts against crime to maintain peace in the federal capital.
SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, reiterated the police’s dedication to safeguarding the lives and property of residents, stating that no effort will be spared to uphold public peace. The police also urged citizens to report any suspicious activities through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” highlighting the importance of community cooperation in combating crime.
