Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, convened a meeting with a delegation from the Pakistan Business Council (PBC), led by Vice Chairman Mr. Ziad Bashir, to address the country’s economic challenges and discuss the government’s reform agenda.

According to Press Information Department, the Finance Minister provided an overview of the government’s strategies to navigate global economic disruptions, including energy market volatility, supply chain issues, and food security concerns. He emphasized the government’s coordinated approach across key ministries to manage these challenges, with a focus on maintaining stability and continuity through international partnerships.

The PBC delegation acknowledged the government’s efforts to stabilize the economy under difficult conditions. They expressed support for national economic priorities and presented proposals to improve competitiveness, enhance exports, and strengthen the formal economy. Discussions focused on economic fundamentals, business climate improvements, structural challenges, and a balanced taxation framework.

The Finance Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to structural reforms, such as tax system rationalization and digitization, to strengthen the macroeconomic framework.
