Islamabad: The Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, conducted a virtual meeting with Ambassador Jamieson Greer, the United States Trade Representative, to assess the ongoing efforts aimed at enhancing trade and economic relations between Pakistan and the United States.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting reviewed the advancements in negotiations on a reciprocal trade framework, with both sides acknowledging the significant progress made. The Finance Minister reiterated the importance of aligning the negotiations with Pakistan’s economic priorities, emphasizing that a robust trade partnership with the United States is vital for Pakistan’s export-led growth and economic resilience.

Ambassador Greer recognized Pakistan’s engagement in the discussions, noting improvements in labor and regulatory reforms, and reiterated the United States’ commitment to resolving outstanding issues through sustained technical engagement. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the progress and agreed to maintain regular contact to finalize the remaining elements of the trade framework, aiming to further strengthen the economic ties between the two nations.

The meeting also included participation from the Federal Secretary for Commerce, Mr. Jawad Paul, and senior members from the Office of the United States Trade Representative.
