Islamabad: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, has issued a statement condemning India’s actions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal. Khan criticized the Indian government’s decision on August 5, 2019, to revoke the special status of IIOJK, describing it as an illegal and unilateral move aimed at altering the region’s demographics.

According to the Press Information Department, Khan emphasized that the steps taken by India in 2019 were part of a broader historical pattern of oppression that began with the controversial accession of Kashmir in 1947. He stated that despite various measures, including lockdowns and demographic changes, the spirit of the Kashmiri people remains unbroken. Khan reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, as outlined in United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Khan assured the people of Kashmir that they are not alone in their struggle. He affirmed that the entire nation of Pakistan, alongside its government, stands firmly with the Kashmiri people, offering unwavering moral, political, and diplomatic support. The minister concluded by expressing hope for a future where justice and truth prevail in the region.
