Finance and Railways Minister Engages Business Community on Economic Challenges


Islamabad: The Minister of State for Finance and Railways, Mr. Bilal Azhar Kayani, held an interactive session with key representatives of Pakistan’s business community to discuss challenges faced by businesses and explore opportunities for economic growth. This session, part of a series of engagements under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), included participants from major chambers of commerce across the country and representatives from government bodies such as the Federal Board of Revenue and the Ministries of Commerce and Industries.



According to Press Information Department, the session centered on addressing constraints and policy challenges impacting business expansion in Pakistan, with a focus on enhancing the economic and investment environment. Mr. Kayani reiterated the government’s commitment to establishing a stable policy framework to foster private sector-led growth, emphasizing the importance of export-led growth and public-private partnerships.



Participants acknowledged the role of the SIFC in resolving issues and boosting confidence among local businessmen and investors. They highlighted the need for continued collaboration in implementing reforms and improving business practices. Concerns regarding certain business regulations were raised, to which the Minister responded by directing relevant ministries to address these issues promptly. He assured ongoing engagement with the business community through the SIFC platform.
