Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Pledges to Eradicate Cross-Border Terrorism


Islamabad: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, has vowed to eliminate terrorism originating from across the borders with the full strength of the state. He addressed graduating officers at the National Security and War Course at the National Defence University, emphasizing the commitment of the Armed Forces to dismantle terrorist sanctuaries and their facilitators, with the support of the nation.



According to Radio Pakistan, Syed Asim Munir pointed out that the Armed Forces are aware of state-sponsored attempts by hostile intelligence agencies to destabilize Pakistan. He stated that efforts by proxies and networks operating under such agencies will not be allowed to compromise Pakistan’s internal security and economic prosperity. He also discussed the evolving nature of warfare and the importance of strategic clarity and institutional professionalism in addressing complex strategic challenges. The Field Marshal praised institutions like NDU for preparing future leaders to tackle hybrid, conventional, and sub-conventional threats.



Furthermore, Syed Asim Munir noted that the Armed Forces are adjusting their strategies in response to the changing character of warfare. He remarked that victory is achieved through faith, unity, and discipline, rather than media rhetoric or political slogans. Expressing confidence in the professionalism and readiness of Pakistan’s Armed Forces, he encouraged the graduating officers to uphold values of integrity, selfless service, and commitment to the nation. Upon arrival at the National Defence University, the Field Marshal was received by the President of NDU.
