QUETTA: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Pakistan Armed Forces to eradicate all forms of terrorism, emphasizing the crucial support from the population in this endeavor.

According to Radio Pakistan, during his visit to Quetta, Field Marshal Munir interacted with officers and troops deployed in Balochistan, highlighting the prevailing security environment. He stated that Pakistan’s progress cannot be hindered by propaganda, fake news, or externally sponsored terrorism. The Field Marshal underscored that hostile forces attempting to derail the nation’s progress through proxies and propaganda will ultimately fail due to the resilience of the state and the unity of its people.

Field Marshal Munir also stressed the importance of sustainable peace and stability in Balochistan, advocating for a people-centric approach, inclusive development, and improved governance alongside security efforts. He commended the Government of Balochistan’s efforts focused on public welfare and socio-economic uplift, which aim to strengthen the bond between the state and the province’s inhabitants.

During his address to student officers and faculty members at the Command and Staff College in Quetta, the Field Marshal praised the institution’s high standards of training and professionalism. He emphasized the need for the army to remain abreast of emerging technologies and future battlefield challenges, advising officers to maintain high standards of professionalism and operational excellence.

The Field Marshal’s visit included an acknowledgment of the operational readiness and professional commitment of the forces in maintaining peace and stability in the region. Upon his arrival in Quetta, he was received by the Commander of the Quetta Corps.
