Islamabad: Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, held a meeting with FAMSUN Group’s CEO, Jack Chen, to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan’s agricultural sector. The discussions centered on enhancing grain storage, technology transfer, and agricultural modernization.
According to Press Information Department, the minister welcomed the Chinese delegation and underscored the importance of Pakistan-China collaboration in agricultural development and innovation. He highlighted FAMSUN’s contributions over the past two decades and invited the company to expand its presence in Pakistan through strategic partnerships and long-term investments. The minister also emphasized the urgent need for modern grain storage infrastructure and encouraged FAMSUN to establish high-tech silos across the country.
The meeting discussed potential cooperation in priority areas, including the development of modern grain storage systems, expansion of agri-processing infrastructure, and introduction of advanced technologies to enhance productivity. A proposal for a pilot demonstration silo at the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council was also considered.
Rana Tanveer Hussain stressed the importance of human resource development and encouraged greater academic and technical cooperation with Chinese institutions. He requested FAMSUN to assess the existing infrastructure at PARC to identify potential areas for collaboration in research and technological development.
The FAMSUN delegation expressed its appreciation for Pakistan’s commitment to agricultural modernization and shared its experience in intelligent agriculture and modern technologies. Both parties agreed to develop practical proposals for future cooperation, focusing on innovation, technology transfer, and sustainable agricultural development. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the strong partnership between Pakistan and China and a commitment to translate discussions into concrete initiatives for agricultural advancement and food security.
