Chicago: Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Syed Imran Ahmad Shah emphasized the enduring relevance of Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi’s teachings in addressing modern moral and social challenges during a keynote address at the Turkish Festival in Chicago. The panel discussion, titled “Maulana Rumi: Sufism and Pakistan’s Spiritual Heritage,” gathered scholars, religious leaders, and community members to commemorate Rumi’s influence on the contemporary Muslim world.

According to Press Information Department, Shah highlighted the values of compassion, tolerance, and service, which are central to both Rumi’s teachings and Pakistan’s Sufi heritage. He noted the connections between Pakistan and Türkiye, underscoring how Rumi’s legacy continues to strengthen ties between the two nations. Shah also linked spirituality to public service, advocating for social responsibility as a core Islamic value. He urged young people to integrate Rumi’s teachings into their lives by balancing knowledge with humility and personal success with societal service.

During the festival, Shah engaged with scholars and community representatives to discuss the shared spiritual heritage of Pakistan and Türkiye and the importance of cultural engagement in fostering mutual understanding.
