Federal Minister Meets Challenge Fashion Delegation, Focuses on Chinese Investment in Pakistan


Islamabad: Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, met with a delegation from Challenge Fashion (Private) Limited to discuss the Challenge Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Lahore and explore further investment cooperation.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting included discussions on the progress of the Challenge SEZ, which involves a proposed investment of USD 150 million. The project aims to support export-oriented industrialization and technology transfer in Pakistan. The meeting was attended by key officials from the Board of Investment and senior members of Challenge Fashion, indicating a strong institutional engagement.



The Federal Minister appreciated Challenge Group’s investment in Pakistan’s economy and noted that the project could serve as a model for other international investors. Discussions also covered the development status of the SEZ, focusing on infrastructure, utilities, and regulatory facilitation. The Minister emphasized learning from international practices to enhance Pakistan’s business environment.



Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh highlighted the government’s commitment to promoting industrial growth and foreign direct investment, aligning with initiatives under CPEC Phase-II. The delegation expressed confidence in Pakistan’s industrial potential and reaffirmed their commitment to completing the project.



The meeting concluded with a commitment to strengthen industrial cooperation between Pakistan and China, aiming for the successful implementation of the Challenge SEZ. The Board of Investment remains focused on facilitating investors and ensuring the smooth execution of strategic projects.
