Islamabad: Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik recently met with JD Singleton, Director of Comminution EMEA and Pakistan Executive Sponsor at Weir, to explore collaborative opportunities in Pakistan’s minerals sector. The discussions centered on the country’s emerging mineral sector opportunities, strategic collaboration, and the role of advanced mining technologies.

According to Press Information Department, Minister Malik welcomed Weir’s involvement in Pakistan and guaranteed the government’s full support for the company’s engagement and investment in the country’s mineral resources. Weir, a global mining technology entity operating in over 50 countries, reaffirmed its commitment to establishing enduring relationships with the Pakistani government and industry stakeholders.

Weir will participate as a Platinum Sponsor in the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2026, with senior leadership, including Group CEO Andrew Neilson, expected to attend the event in Islamabad. The Minister expressed optimism that collaboration with international technology leaders like Weir would advance efficient and sustainable mineral development in Pakistan, enhancing the country’s appeal to prospective investors in the sector.
