OSLO: Representing the Government of Pakistan, Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan attended the funeral service of King Harald V of Norway in Oslo.
According to Press Information Department, during the official proceedings, Minister Khan met with His Majesty King Haakon VIII. He conveyed condolences on behalf of the President, Prime Minister, and the people of Pakistan to the Norwegian Royal Family and the nation. The minister expressed solidarity with Norway in this time of mourning and paid respect to the late monarch’s enduring legacy.
Accompanied by H.E. Mr. Asim Ali Khan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Norway, the Federal Minister engaged in discussions with prominent Norwegian officials. He met with Mr. Espen Barth Eide, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ms. Lubna Jaffery, Minister of Culture and Equality; Mr. Åsmund Aukrust, Minister of International Development; Mr. Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ms. Anne Lindboe, Mayor of Oslo; and Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, Minister of Finance and former NATO Secretary General. The discussions covered expressions of condolence and topics of mutual interest.
The Norwegian leadership acknowledged Pakistan’s high-level participation during this period of national remembrance, emphasizing a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.
