Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal Highlights Collaboration for National Growth at Book Launch

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, emphasized the importance of collaboration among private institutions, civil society, and the government for Pakistan’s development during the book launch of “Pakistan’s 100 Most Successful CEOs and Diplomats.” Minister Iqbal, serving as the Chief Guest, praised the assembled leaders for their roles in advancing economic and social progress in the country.

According to Press Information Department, Minister Iqbal called the event a significant milestone for shaping Pakistan’s future, lauding the contributions of the featured CEOs and diplomats in modernizing national institutions and leading in innovation and leadership. He thanked Ejaz Nisar and his team for bringing together diverse leaders to foster economic stability and a brighter future. Reflecting on Pakistan’s 77 years of independence, he acknowledged the economic and social hurdles faced by the nation, citing a lack of stability and policy continuity as key challenges.

Minister Iqbal recounted the difficulties of 2013, including terrorism, power shortages, and economic crises, which were largely addressed by the Pakistan Muslim League (N) government through initiatives like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). However, he expressed disappointment over the stalling of CPEC projects after the 2018 government change, which he claimed eroded investor confidence and economic progress. He criticized the previous government’s handling of Pakistan’s global image.

In his address, Minister Iqbal outlined his government’s current focus on economic revival through the ‘5Es’ framework: Exports, Digital Development, Environment, Energy, and Equity. He shared successes in controlling inflation, stabilizing the economy, and reestablishing trust with international financial institutions over the past 16 months. Concluding his speech, he stressed the necessity of policy consistency for sustainable development and reaffirmed his commitment to transforming Pakistan into a robust economy.
