Islamabad: Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan visited the Embassy of Tajikistan in the Diplomatic Enclave, meeting with Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir. The two officials engaged in discussions on bilateral relations, trade cooperation, and the regional situation.
According to Press Information Department, Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized the longstanding relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan, highlighting shared religious and cultural values. He praised Ambassador Toir for his role in fostering closer ties between the two nations. Khan expressed Pakistan’s eagerness to enhance trade relations with Tajikistan, suggesting that both countries could benefit from cooperation across various sectors. He noted the importance of expediting the implementation of agreements and promoting trade.
Ambassador Toir expressed Tajikistan’s interest in utilizing Pakistan’s trade corridors, acknowledging Pakistan’s constructive role in the region. Both sides emphasized the need to strengthen Pak-Tajik trade links and promote regional cooperation. They also discussed the global situation and tensions in South Asia. The visit was marked by the playing of national songs, adding a ceremonial touch to the event.
