Islamabad: Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has dismissed recent remarks by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs as a diversionary tactic, according to a statement released by the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Mr. Tahir Andrabi. The statement criticizes India’s record on religious discrimination and violence, urging India to address these issues internally.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the statement from India fails to address ongoing issues of violence against Muslims, Christians, and other marginalized communities within its borders. The statement highlights incidents of mob lynchings and the destruction of religious sites targeting Muslims. It reports that in 2025, more than 55 Muslims were lynched, and since January 2026, over 19 have been killed by violent mobs. Extremist groups have reportedly destroyed 11 mosques, with perpetrators often acting with impunity and state patronage.

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is calling on India to focus on these internal issues and ensure the protection of religious and marginalized communities in line with constitutional and international obligations. The statement concludes by advising India to avoid issuing politically motivated statements concerning other nations.
