Srinagar, National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah has sharply criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its affiliated groups for propagating an anti-Muslim narrative during the ongoing election campaign.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Dr. Abdullah specifically targeted Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his recent comments that equated Muslims with infiltrators, intensifying the political discourse in the region. While addressing a convention in Chanapora, organized by Mushtaq Guroo, Dr. Abdullah expressed confidence in the INDIA bloc’s prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha seats across Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, accusing the BJP of withdrawing from the electoral race due to anticipated defeat.

Dr. Abdullah highlighted the BJP’s failure to win the hearts of the Kashmiri people, particularly criticizing the decisions made in 2019 which he claimed have only served to alienate and enrage the local population. He also alleged that while the BJP appears to have stepped back, it continues to support certain parties covertly.

As election strategies unfold, Dr. Abdullah’s remarks underline the heightened tensions and the complex political dynamics in Jammu and Kashmir, suggesting a tumultuous electoral season ahead.
