Islamabad: A commemorative event marking Egypt’s Revolution Day was organized by the Centre for Afghanistan, Middle East & Africa (CAMEA) at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), in collaboration with the Pakistan Africa Institute for Development and Research (PAIDAR).

According to Press Information Department, the event featured a series of speeches by notable figures, including Ambassador Moin Ul Haque, Director General ISSI; Ambassador Khalid Mahmood, Chairman, BoG, ISSI; Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, President PAIDAR; Amir Shoukat, Ambassador of Pakistan to Egypt; and Dr. Amina Khan, Director, CAMEA. The Chief Guest was Dr. Ihab Abdelhamid Hassan, Ambassador of Egypt to Pakistan, while Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, Additional Foreign Secretary (Africa), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan, served as the Guest of Honor.

Ambassador Moin Ul Haque emphasized Egypt’s historical significance and its essential role in various global spheres, while also discussing the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Egypt, rooted in shared history and cooperation. He reiterated ISSI’s dedication to enhancing collaboration with Egyptian institutions through research and policy exchanges.

Dr. Hassan reflected on the 23 July 1952 Revolution, labeling it a pivotal event in Egypt’s modern history with wide-reaching influence. He stressed the importance of the Pakistan-Egypt partnership and highlighted the progress in bilateral relations, particularly through recent political consultations.

The event also saw contributions from other speakers who underscored Egypt’s role in regional dynamics and the importance of strengthening ties in multiple sectors, including trade, defense, and culture. The discussions highlighted mutual commitments to dialogue, international law, and multilateral cooperation, aiming to deepen the Pakistan-Egypt relationship.
