Islamabad: The National Polio Management team has conducted a review of the preparations for the forthcoming nationwide Anti-Polio Campaigns, scheduled for April and May. This initiative forms part of the ongoing efforts to eradicate polio across the country.
A statement from the National Emergency Operations Center highlighted that a high-level meeting was convened to assess the readiness for the campaigns. The meeting was chaired by Ayesha Raza Farooq, the Prime Minister’s focal person for polio eradication. It was attended by national and provincial coordinators along with representatives from international partners.
During the meeting, Ayesha Raza Farooq directed officials to address any shortcomings in the polio campaign, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that every child receives vaccination. She underscored the need to enhance the effectiveness of the upcoming campaigns to curb the spread of the virus.
Further, the focal person stressed that no child should be left unvaccinated in the upcoming drive. She also pointed out the necessity for a unified strategy at all levels to ensure the successful eradication of polio.
