ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Energy, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, met with Acting US Ambassador Natalie A. Baker to discuss recent reforms in the country’s power sector and explore opportunities for further collaboration. The meeting took place in Islamabad, where both officials emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in enhancing energy security.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Baker extended an invitation to Minister Leghari to participate in the upcoming Energy Security Dialogue in Washington. This dialogue aims to foster deeper cooperation and address challenges in the energy sector between the two nations.

During the meeting, Minister Leghari briefed the US diplomat on the government’s recent initiatives aimed at improving the power sector. He noted that these reforms have led to measurable progress compared to the previous year.

Minister Leghari also acknowledged the significant role played by various US agencies in supporting Pakistan’s power sector. He expressed appreciation for the ongoing strategic partnership, underscoring the value Pakistan places on its relationship with the United States in this domain.
