Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing Observes Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir to Condemn Indian Actions


Beijing: The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing observed Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir today, reaffirming political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination. The annual observance on August 5 denounces India’s actions on August 5, 2019, in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).



According to Press Information Department, a ceremony was held at the Embassy where messages from Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister were read. The messages condemned India’s actions and human rights violations in IIOJK, reaffirming support for Kashmiris and urging for the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions for a plebiscite. Mr. Qian Feng of Tsinghua University and Mr. Cheng Xizhong of the Charhar Institute highlighted the need for a peaceful resolution adhering to UN resolutions.



Mr. Aizaz Khan, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy, condemned India’s actions and highlighted the persecution of Muslims in India and the targeting of Kashmiri youth. The event included a documentary and photographic exhibition on human rights violations by Indian forces in IIOJK since August 2019. Attendees included academics, think tank members, media, and the Pakistani community.
