Islamabad, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has categorically dismissed reports circulating on social media regarding an election schedule, affirming that no such official schedule has been released to date.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, a spokesperson for the Election Commission expressed concern over the spread of misinformation concerning the electoral process. The spokesperson specifically refuted a statement published on page 10 of the Daily Jang newspaper, labeling it as misleading.
The commission clarified that it has not engaged in any consultations regarding petitions that have been submitted to it. The spokesperson emphasized that any claims or statements not officially released by the Election Commission’s spokesperson should be considered invalid and not representative of the commission’s policy.
This announcement comes amidst a climate of heightened anticipation and speculation regarding electoral timings in Pakistan. The ECP’s response serves as a reminder for the public and media outlets to rely on verified and official sources for information related to the election schedule and process.
