Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi underscored the importance of strong ties with the United States during a meeting with a U.S. Congressional delegation in Islamabad. The meeting, which included Congressmen Jack Bergman, Tom Suozzie, and Jonathan Jackson, focused on bolstering cooperation in key areas such as economy, trade, investment, security, and counter-terrorism.

Naqvi emphasized the global nature of terrorism and the necessity for the international community to collaborate with Pakistan. He highlighted the importance of intelligence and technology sharing in counter-terrorism efforts, noting Pakistan’s significant sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

The Interior Minister expressed hope that the visit by the U.S. Congressmen would help illuminate Pakistan’s critical role in counter-terrorism. He also praised the U.S. delegation’s participation in the recent Minerals Investment Forum held in Islamabad, assuring that the government would extend every possible facility and protection to investors.

The U.S. delegation concurred with Naqvi’s remarks, stating that Pakistan’s contribution to the war on terrorism should be fully recognized. Additionally, they acknowledged the Pakistani community in the United States as skilled and competent, further cementing the ties between the two nations.
