Muzaffarabad: Business communities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir are experiencing economic setbacks due to the disruptive actions of a proscribed Action Committee. The group’s activities, aimed at advocating public rights, have been causing disturbances, impacting both peace and economic activities in the region.

According to Radio Pakistan, officials from the Goods Forward Union reported that the proscribed Action Committee has been involved in violent and harassing incidents against truck drivers. Allegations include siphoning diesel from trucks and confiscating goods from the drivers. As a result, transport terminals have been voluntarily closed by concerned individuals fearing theft and violence.

Union leaders emphasized that despite trucks being ready for transport, drivers are reluctant to proceed due to ongoing security concerns. They have called upon security institutions to ensure the safe return and protection of their drivers. The business community is increasingly frustrated as these disruptions have paralyzed commercial activities, leading to significant economic losses in the region.
