ISLAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, presided over a significant meeting with officers from the Industrial Area zone to evaluate crime trends and operational approaches.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting brought together key figures including SP Industrial Area Zone Hasnain Waris, Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), and Station House Officers (SHOs). DIG Tariq issued directives aimed at intensifying efforts against criminal gangs, emphasizing the urgency of apprehending absconding members.
He instructed the officers to compile data on individuals involved in property-related crimes and expedite their arrests. The DIG also stressed the necessity of concluding ongoing investigations on merit and ensuring prompt submission of cases to the courts.
Officers were urged to maintain strict surveillance on previously released offenders who were involved in property crimes, with a directive to re-arrest them if they reoffend. Additionally, DIG Tariq highlighted the importance of pursuing those involved in vehicle and motorcycle thefts, aiming for the maximum arrest of proclaimed offenders.
“Our priority is to protect the lives and property of citizens, and any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated,” DIG Tariq stated.
