Chairman Senate and Finance Minister Discuss Financial Discipline at Parliament House


ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, met with Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, at the Parliament House to discuss key issues concerning financial discipline, institutional reforms, and government austerity measures.



According to Senate of Pakistan, the meeting highlighted the austerity and cost-cutting measures implemented by the Senate Secretariat, which Chairman Gilani stated had resulted in substantial savings. The Finance Minister praised these efforts as a responsible approach to governance, emphasizing institutional efficiency and financial discipline.



During the discussions, Chairman Gilani stressed the importance of public institutions adopting practical measures to cut unnecessary expenditures and ensure efficient use of national resources. He noted that simplicity, transparency, and fiscal responsibility are crucial for strengthening democratic institutions and enhancing public confidence.



Furthermore, Chairman Gilani commended the government’s economic stabilization efforts, expressing optimism that ongoing reforms and prudent policymaking would lead to sustainable economic growth and better economic conditions for citizens. Both officials reaffirmed the need for institutional cooperation and coordinated efforts to address economic challenges and support national development.
